Although Dreaming of Tomorrow falls into the category of Christian historical romance, it had a different feel from other books I have read in this genre. This is Book Three in the Tomorrow Dreams series and follows the lives of Pastor Logan De Witt and his fiancée Karen Millerson as they navigate a long-distance engagement and then married life in Oswell City, Iowa. While I have not read the previous books in the series, there was enough background information to provide details pertinent to this story. The novel dealt with real life issues a young pastor and his wife might have experienced in an early 1900s small town including class differences, interpersonal relationships, weather issues as well as how to help those newly arrived to the area. Without revealing spoilers, hardships were not glossed over in this book which could almost be viewed as a snapshot of life from a century ago. Logan and Karen were a wonderful leading couple and demonstrated inspiring faith and love for one another. If you have read the first two books in the series (and even if you haven’t), you will find Dreaming of Tomorrow to be a very satisfying conclusion and close the book with a happy sigh.
I received an advanced review copy from the author and was not required to write a favorable review. The opinions expressed here are my own.
