Great Read

I really enjoyed this book. At times it made me sad taking a walk through what our ancestors experienced. It was particularly disheartening to me because my ancestors were slaves in Natchez. I can’t imagine the strength they must have had. I was also proud of Violette’s pride, spunk,devotion and loyalty to her daughter. If you enjoy historical fiction, this book is a must read.
