In my review of Destination Romance, book one in Amy Anguish’s Roadtrip Romance series, I mentioned how drawn I was to Bree and the stunning twist to her supporting role in that book. So I was super happy to see that Roadtrip for Two picked up Bree’s story and the fallout from Nathan’s ill-advised & shocking decision in book one.
Ill-advised & shocking, yes. And hurtful and ultimately immature and, yes, dumb. That’s right, Nathan. I said it. (lol) But as we spend more time with Nathan on his & Bree’s mutually-unexpected pit stop in Dallas, that decision begins to make more sense. It’s easy to forget that we didn’t spend much time with him at all in Destination Romance – and most of those glimpses were not his best side. With a deft pen, the author fleshes out his character, elevating him from a tertiary player to a layered hero, flaws and all. And then there’s Bree, who I felt I had a pretty good sense of going into Roadtrip for Two but came to know even better on these pages. I liked her in the first book and I grew to love her in her story. She’s a little bit sassy, a lot sweet, and a refreshing young woman who seeks to keep God in the center of her life.
