Clean Romance

When I first opened the book, it reminded me of several Kim Vogel Sawyer books I’ve read in the past. The setting is similar (though in Iowa, rather than Kansas), the era is similar, and the voice is the same. If Suffice it to say, if you’re a fan of KVS, you’re going to love this book!

The main characters include a preacher-turned-farmer who has had a recent run of bad luck, his sister who is struggling with her shaken faith, a teacher who has overcome her own family struggles and is moving forward, and a banker who has yet to know what life is really about. Each of these people, along with their supporting characters, has something to learn from the others. Throw in some bad weather, a lack of funds, and other misfortunes, and you have the setting for a crisis of faith. Luckily, this is a small town that knows how to support its people and keep everything working out in the end!

This is a sweet and clean book that I can easily recommend to anyone who likes historical fiction.
