Kim Banet lives in beautiful Starlight, Indiana with her soul mate and husband of 35 years, Jeff. Together they raised a daughter and a son, and are currently raising two furry children, a dachshund and a yorkie poo.
During the events of 2020, Kim decided not to go back to her 20-plus year career as a Human Resources professional. Instead, she started a small craft business and sold her crafts at a dear friend’s shop. That same year she decided to write her first novel. She entered her manuscript in numerous contests to learn from judges’ feedback, read books to better learn the craft, and sought advice from her writer daughter and editor son, and in 2023 she received her first publishing contract with Scrivenings Press.

- She wrote the first 50,000 words of her novel on her phone.
- Her happy place, besides home, is the beach or the mountains.
- Hobbies include crafting, crocheting, reading, and watching college basketball (IU Hoosiers and North Carolina Tarheels).
- She watches every Hallmark Christmas movie.
- Coffee shops and bookstores are her favorite spots.
- Kim received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Southeast where she majored in Business and Psychology and has always had a strong interest in psychology, sociology, and human behavior.
Kim’s reason for writing is the hope that a story or a character will point someone to God.
