Just for fun (okay, and some prizes), Scrivenings Press is hosting a 2022 Reading Challenge. The challenge will begin on New Year’s Day, and each month will have a specific theme. It’s not required to read books published by Scrivenings Press to participate, but we will share a list of our books that meet each month’s challenge criteria for those who’d like to read SP books during the challenge.
We’ll set up a page for you to let us know which book(s) you read each month. When you answer the question, you’ll automatically be entered into that month’s drawing, and after each month is over, we’ll select a winner (via random drawing) of those who completed the challenge and entered the drawing. The monthly winner will receive a copy (your choice – print or eBook) of any title already published by Scrivenings Press. Readers who complete all twelve monthly challenges during 2022, will be entered into another drawing for your choice of ten of our books (again, your choice – print or eBook editions).
Unless you’re an avid winter sports participant (or a resident of the Southern Hemisphere), January is a prime month for snuggling under a blanket, sipping a warm beverage, and reading. Because January launches a new year, we’ve chosen the topic “NEW” for this month.
For our list of qualifying books in the “new” category, Scrivenings Press is recognizing the efforts of new novelists. Becoming a novelist is a challenging process. No matter if one consistently ranks in the New York Times Bestseller List or if one is still relatively unknown, every fiction author started with a debut novel. Some of our authors have gone on to write many more books, but the books we’ve tagged for the January challenge were the first published works of fiction for these authors. You can browse that list here:

Watch for an upcoming blog post with a list of topics for the remainder of 2022. Oh, and if you aren’t already on our email newsletter list, you can subscribe so you won’t miss any announcements about our Reading Challenge or other news and events. You can do that using the form in the right-hand sidebar.
