I spent nine years in the Marine Corps, and I’ve had family members who worked in the military intelligence community. Although I’m not privy to the inner workings of that field, the concepts aren’t unfamiliar. I only mention this to say I felt Cindy Bonds did an exceptional job in portraying the characters of her debut novel, Hostage, in a realistic manner.
The opening scene of Hostage grips the reader, tightening the hold as the story progresses. The book doesn’t release its grasp until the final page. Hostage is full of twists and surprises–a suspenseful page-turner. Romance, faith, and inner struggles within the main characters intertwine between intense action sequences.
