Congratulations to the following Scrivenings Press authors, who were just named finalists in the 2021 Selah Awards, which are presented annually by the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writers Conference, and, according to the Selah Awards Facebook page, “are awarded to books within Christian publishing that are considered excellent within their genre.”
The competition for this award is fierce, and the list of finalists includes NYT bestselling authors and books produced by some of the largest publishing houses in Christian fiction. To have our authors included among such company is a great honor, and we are extremely proud of them!
Five of our authors’ books made this prestigious list. Two of the books were ones we acquired when we bought the bulk of the backlist from Mantle Rock Publishing and republished them, but were originally published during the eligibility dates for this year’s contest. One book was published by another publisher, but the author has books published with us. And two of the finalists are Scrivenings Press books.
- Historical Romance: Valley of Shadows by Candace West (originally published by Mantle Rock Publishing and republished by Scrivenings Press)
- Historical Romance: Scarred Vessels by Elaine Marie Cooper (Scrivenings Press)
- Speculative: The Letters by C. Kevin Thompson (originally published by Mantle Rock Publishing, republished by Expanse Books, our speculative line)
- Speculative: Veiled Sun by Brett Armstrong (published by Clean Reads)
- Young Adult: Kokopelli’s Song by Suzanne J. Bratcher (Expanse Books, speculative line of Scrivenings Press)

Congrats to all of you. This is SO exciting!
I want to read all five of them at once. But I know can only read one at a time. Don’t know how I’ll decide. Maybe I’ll put the names of all the titles in a hat and pick one.
Scrivenings Press says
Thanks, Molly! 🙂
